Braithwaite entered St. John's College, Cambridge, aged fifteen on 12/5/1684. He was admitted Gray's Inn 1687. He died without issue. Braithwaite sold all the family properties in Yorkshire and Westmoreland to Oliver Morton (? 1730 approx.) but passed Ingmire Hall to John Upton, his nephew - Died unmarried - SP
