James built Prior Park House (begun 20th April, 1779) on his mother's land at Clogh Prior and lived there from 1786. He afterwards sold it to the Wallers and died at a smaller place, Ballinware, near Nenagh, left to him by his cousin, J. Freeman. He sold Grainge in 1836, dying in 1839, aged eighty-eight. He was, while at Prior Park, guardian to the children of his cousin Loftus. SP
