James inherited the small estate of Knockalton, Nenagh, on which he built a house. He married, on 1st April 1703, Elizabeth Vickers, daughter of Captain Vickers of the Queen's County of Holyhead Pickets. James left nine sons and three daughters. James died, intestate, in 1733, adminisration 21st May 1734. His widow died in 1756.
