William Loftus was a Captain in the Dragoons and 99th Foot Regiment. In 1815 he married Tibelia, daughter of Sir Jonah Barrington, Bart. His wife died in 1845 and he died in Dublin, aged seventy-eight, in 1859. He left three children.
