Kenneth Otway Hume was educated at Kings College. Auckland. and joined the Bank of New Zealand on leaving school. He joined the N.Z. Artillery during the Second World War and left for overseas with the 2nd Echelon, spending 6 months in England and 3½ years in the Middle East. After 42 years with the Bank, Ken retired in 1966. He married Madge Collins (nee Simons) and the couple have a delightful retirement home in Remuera.
