Arthur Douglas Keith Otway was born in Dunedin in 1897 and lived in Invercargill until his family moved to Auckland. On leaving school he started a career with the National Bank of N.Z. He served in the Artillery during the War and later was with the Army of Occupation in Germany. On his return he went back to the Bank to work. Later, he married Mary Hislop of Devonport and took up sheep and cattle farming at Waitomo and was then for some years near Otorohanga. He farmed at Riverhead later, but eventually retired to Takapuna where Keith died in 1981. His widow, Mary, now lives at Milford. Keith had a great love of the sea and owned several launches of which the 43 foot "Moeraki" is the best known. KEITH and MARY had two children: Judith and Maureen.
