Audrey Mary lived at Aylesbury and can remember trips to the hot springs in the Te Aroha Gardens. While at Kiwitahi, she can remember riding with her governess down to the railway station to watch the Duke and Duchess of York (later George VI and Elizabeth, now the Queen Mother) go by in the train. She attended school at Diocesan in Hamilton and can remember the clock in the centre ofCambridge being lit up at night in 1935; this clock was erected to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the accession of George V and Queen Mary. She then shifted to Auckland and attended Auckland Diocesan after which she worked at the Auckland Harbour Board. After the Second World War, she married Andrew Clyde Bullians who was in the Auckland Savings Bank. They lived at Campbells Bay onAuckland's North Shore and brought up three children there. Later Clyde became Manager at Takapuna; the family separated in 1963. Audrey worked for a time in Auckland but went to Tauranga a few years later and bought a house there returning later to Auckland to take a teaching course and a University degree. After a few years teaching in Tauranga, she retired and married Lioyd Tynan Woollams. She likes golfing, painting and caravaning with her husband who is a keen trout fisherman.
